ABSTRACT
Composed of auxiliary materials, objects of greater complexity are well represented in historical amber artefacts, not least in the Malbork Castle Museum collection. The paper addresses research and conservation issues for a limited group of amber artefacts, mainly dated to the early modern period, including ones wherein unique ornamentation techniques were applied. The author presents options of studying amber pieces from a technological angle, referencing a number of case studies and interesting analysis outcomes. Essential discourse items include a presentation of assorted conservation concepts intended to preserve the authenticity and aesthetic impact of these extraordinarily charming artworks.
